The following is the list of local agencies partnered with the United Way of Putnam County. Included in the list are the programs funded by United Way dollars. These agencies provide a wide range of services, are governed by volunteer boards and meet high standards of accountability. Each year, these agencies complete a new funding application and then interview with the United Way Allocations Committee.

 Scouting: Scouting provides a program for young people that builds character, trains them in the responsibilities

of participating citizenship, and develops personal fitness.

Youth Mentoring: Matches at-risk youth with positive adult mentors to help them reach their full potential.

School Based Programs: Peer to peer mentoring to enhance their well being.

Victims Advocacy: Assistance to victims of crime, including 24-hour rape crisis and domestic violence response, emergency shelter, and support groups.

Wrap Around: Coordinates services for families with children with multiple needs.

The Parent Project: Provides free workshops for parents of high-risk youth.

Emergency Prescription Assistance Program: Helps provide prescriptions to lower-income residents.

Senior Wellness and Lifestyle Enrichment: Enhances the lives of seniors from all of Putnam County.  

Programs include fitness, education and recreation.

Senior Transportation: Serves those 60 years and older, to enable them to remain independent

in their own homes for as long as possible.

Prevention Services: Provides education, skill building and alternative activities to encourage positive behavior and

prevent the use of drugs and the abuse of alcohol.

Medication Stop Gap: Assists lower-income clients with prescription needs and promoting independent living.

Critical Home Repair: Partners with families to make critical and necessary home repairs.

Caregiver Support, Managed Services and Respite:

Provide custodial care and in-home care services to those unable to pay.

Open Doors program: Subsidizes the cost of membership and participation fees for those unable to pay.

2nd Grade Swim: Provides basic swimming skills, water safety awareness and life-saving skills.
